Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

KomoDice is a virtual tabletop for playing Dungeons & Dragons together in your browser. This page explains what information we collect, why, who can see it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written in plain language on purpose.

1.What we collect

We collect only what the service needs to work:

  • Your account. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We never see your Google password. A guest who tries the Sandbox gets a temporary account with no email address.
  • What you create. Characters, campaigns, maps, tokens, journal and quest notes, items, chat messages, dice rolls and forum posts.
  • Files you upload. Maps, token and portrait images, and audio, stored with Cloudflare R2 and counted against your storage limit.
  • Technical data. A sign-in token and your preferences (language, interface settings) are kept in your browser. Our servers keep ordinary logs (such as your IP address and the time of a request) for security and to fix problems.
  • Support. If you support KomoDice through Saweria, we match your support to your account using the email address you write in your message. Saweria, not us, handles the payment.

2.How we use it

To run the game: sign you in, keep your campaigns and characters, and show every player at the table the same thing in real time. To keep the service safe and working, to answer your questions, and to improve it.

We do not sell your information and we do not show ads.

3.Who can see what

  • The people in your campaign see your name, your picture, the characters you put in the party, and the chat and dice rolls at the table. The Dungeon Master sees what the campaign needs to be run.
  • The community forum is public: anyone can read a post, together with its author's name and picture. Do not post anything you want to keep private.
  • Your email address is never shown to other players. Whether you support KomoDice (Patron) is not shown to others either.

4.Services we rely on

Some of your information passes through other companies that help us run KomoDice:

  • Google, to sign you in.
  • Cloudflare, to store and deliver uploaded files.
  • Our hosting provider, where the database and the application run.
  • Google Fonts, which sends the fonts to your browser from Google's servers, so Google sees your IP address when a page loads.
  • YouTube, only when the home page shows a YouTube video: it uses the privacy-friendly embed, and YouTube may set its own cookies once you play it.
  • Saweria, if you choose to support us.

5.Cookies and local storage

We use only what is needed to run the site: your sign-in token, your language and your interface preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

6.How long we keep it

A guest account and its Sandbox are deleted automatically a few hours after it is created, or as soon as the guest leaves the Sandbox.

For everyone else, we keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account and everything that belongs to it (see Your choices). Copies in backups disappear when those backups are replaced.

7.Your choices

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, to correct it, to export it, or to delete your account and its data. Contact us (below) and we will answer as soon as we can. You can delete your own characters, campaigns, files and forum posts yourself at any time.

Where the law of your country gives you more rights, such as under Indonesia's personal data protection law, those rights apply too.

8.Children

KomoDice is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has an account, tell us and we will remove it.

9.Security

Traffic to KomoDice is encrypted, and access to your data is limited to you, the people you play with, and the few administrators who keep the service running. No online service is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

10.Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for important changes we will tell you in the app.
